Polish Picnic 2025

On Saturday, August 16, we gathered at Huset Park in Columbia Heights, MN for our Polish Picnic—a day of community, culture, and celebration.

In the morning, we were worried—rain was pouring down, and we weren’t sure if anyone would show up to the picnic. But by noon the skies cleared, and to our joy, people kept coming…and coming! The turnout was bigger than we ever expected.

There was something for everyone: delicious Polish dishes, lively folk music, dancers in colorful traditional costumes from across Poland, Polish sweets and preserves to take home, and a chance to learn about our schools, churches, and community groups. Best of all, it was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect—many people met friends they hadn’t seen in years.

Huset Park turned out to be the perfect setting. The wide lawns gave plenty of space to sit, relax, and enjoy a meal or a drink. Kids splashed and played in the water park while adults tried Polish dishes, sweets, and non-alcoholic beers.

We heard so many kind words throughout the day. Many people told us how much they’ve missed the Twin Cities Polish Festival and how happy they were to once again celebrate Polish culture together—even if on a smaller scale.
