On Sunday, June 29, 2025, PACIM members and friends attended a book reading and signing event with Polish-American author Anthony Bukoski from Superior, Wisconsin. The event took place in the historic Chief Justice Room at the Landmark Center in Saint Paul, MN.
During the program, Anthony Bukoski shared what inspired him to write several collections of short stories featuring Polish immigrants living in northwestern Wisconsin and Louisiana. He read excerpts from some of the stories and signed copies of his newest book, The Thief of Words. He also graciously donated a copy to the PACIM Library.
It was a memorable afternoon celebrating Polish-American storytelling and community.
PACIM will discuss some of Anthony Bukoski’s stories as part of the upcoming Polish Literature in English Translation Club (PoLitETC), and we expect the author to take part in the conversation.
