SYRENA Sailing Club of PACIM

SYRENA Sailing Club’s purpose is to create and foster a community of people interested in sailing—learning, sharing about sailing experiences, organizing trips and charters, exchanging information, helping with small repairs, and preparing members’ boats for sailing and winter storage, etc. All levels of experience are welcome.

Sailing with Ted

PACIM has negotiated with a fellow PACIM member Captain Ted (Mirek) Wudarski to offer PACIM members the opportunity to sail with him on his Catalina 310 sailboat on Lake Pepin. The goal is to have a relaxing time on the water with your family and other club members, sailing on a comfortable and safe sailboat under the command of an experienced captain.

This season’s introductory rate is $300 per household (up to 2 adults and 2 children).  Payment is made directly to the Captain and covers a portion of the expenses and maintenance of the boat. Household size is limited to accommodate more than one family at a time. Please coordinate with the Captain if your household has more than 2 adults and 2 children.

The details of the offer:

One day of sailing per month (weather permitting) for the next three months.

Sailing on Lake Pepin on a Catalina 310 sailboat with Captain Ted (Mirek) Wudarski. Sailing days will generally be on the weekend, but if you prefer to sail on a weekday, you may make arrangements with the Captain.

Sailing participants will have the opportunity to use and improve basic sailing skills, handle the sails and lines and socialize with other Polish American and American sailors.

No sailing experience is required.

Participants are also offered the privilege of using the Lake City Marina facilities and beach on the day of sailing.

The offer does not include food or beverage. So feel free to bring anything to you like eat and drink. You may also bring food and drink to share with others. Adults over 21 may consume light alcoholic beverages at the discretion of the captain.

Safety vests will be provided. However, not all children’s sizes are available. Families with children will need to bring the right size life jacket for each child. Also, bring sunscreen, wear clothes to protect you from the elements, and bring appropriate gear for wind or rain.
