He is also known for his performances with historical instruments and is widely recognized for popularising the trumpet in Poland. During a 20-year career as an orchestral musician\, Cichor has worked with the Wrocław Philharmonic Orchestra\, the National Philharmonic Orchestra\, and the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra. In 2011 he was appointed as principal trumpet player of the Łódź Philharmonic. \nA teacher for 15 years\, Sławomir Cichor is associated with the Academy of Music in Łódź where he works as a professor and lecturer\, conducting masterclasses and frequently acting as a jury member in prestigious national and international competitions\, including the 2nd Theo Charlier Competition in Namur\, 2015. He was also among the artists participating in the annual International Trumpet Guild (ITG) conference in both 2013 and 2021\, and he is going to participate in the 47th ITG Conference in Minneapolis from May 30 to June 3\, 2023.

DESCRIPTION:We’re thrilled to announce that a talented 17-year-old trumpet player from Płock\, Poland\, named Amelia Kowalewska\, will perform alongside the parish organist Chris Brand for the Polish Mass on June 4\, 2023\, at 11:30 AM in the Holy Cross Church. After the Mass\, she will also perform a short concert featuring “golden hits” compositions by J. Clarke\, M. A. Charpentier\, J. Stanley\, and others. This is a free event that you won’t want to miss! \nAmelia is the proud recipient of the prestigious 2023 ITG Conference Trumpet Gapper Scholarship and has been selected to compete in the final round of the Ryan Anthony Memorial Trumpet Competition. The International Trumpet Guild organizes the competition that will be held in Minneapolis\, MN\, from May 30 to June 3\, 2023.
