Janda’s civic involvement began during World War I, when she was the only woman serving on the Citizens Aid Society in Minneapolis. She co-founded the Polanie Club, and was the first executive secretary of the International Institute of St. Paul. She died in April 1961.

PACIM’s membership committee felt the cash flow benefits of a return to staggered renewals offset other considerations, and so the Board of Directors approved a conversion to PACIM’s former system unanimously at its February 4 meeting. Members who would have renewed in January and February will now have memberships that expire at the end of March. All other members will return to their previous renewal cycle month.
